Sales Assistant

We are seeking a customer-focused Sales Assistant. This role involves assisting customers with their purchases, handling transactions, maintaining high food safety standards, and ensuring the shop is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing. The retail Sales Assistant will have a passion for excellent customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. While previous experience in retail is beneficial, full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, assist them with product choices, and provide recommendations based on their needs.
• Develop a strong understanding of the products offered to answer customer inquiries confidently and make informed suggestions.
• Keep all areas of the store clean and organized, ensuring food preparation and display areas meet hygiene and safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with restocking shelves, and maintain visually appealing displays to enhance the shopping experience.
• Adhere to health & safety regulations, including correct storage and handling procedures to maintain product quality.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations and assist with tasks when required.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience in retail or a similar customer-facing role is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn about different products.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and professional attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, especially during busy periods.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining hygiene standards.
• Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and processing transactions accurately.
• Flexibility to work different shifts as required.
