We are currently seeking a Legal Executive to join a leading Irish law firm in their Healthcare department. This is a well-established practice offering a comprehensive range of legal services across corporate, commercial, banking, property, employment, litigation, and more. With a strong focus on delivering high-quality legal support, this role will involve working closely with partners and solicitors across varied and complex matters.

Summary
The Legal Executive will provide direct support to the Healthcare team, assisting with case preparation, legal drafting, document management, and client liaison. This role offers exposure to a wide range of litigation matters and requires someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist partners and solicitors within the Healthcare department on active case files

  • Draft legal documents including motions, affidavits, Notices for Particulars, and discovery requests

  • Assist in preparing instructions to experts and compiling briefs for experts and counsel

  • Coordinate and schedule consultations with witnesses and experts; attend meetings and take detailed notes

  • Manage administrative tasks including photocopying, scanning, filing, post handling, and overall file management

  • Provide support on legal communications and documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy

  • Conduct legal research and stay informed of relevant legislative changes

  • Maintain strong working relationships with all internal stakeholders and external contacts

  • Prepare for hearings and trials, including diary management and billing assistance

  • Manage day-to-day correspondence and case-related communications

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in defence litigation is essential

  • Proactive approach with the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Experience using legal Case Management systems; familiarity with Practice Evolve is an advantage

  • Accurate typing skills and a strong understanding of grammar for digital dictation

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively

  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal

  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
